Al Amerat cricket ground is in Muscat, Oman. In 2008, the government of Oman had decided to construct a cricket stadium for their county with an estimated amount of 2 million Omani rials. It is also known as the Oman Cricket Academy Ground. Oman Cricket Board owns this stadium.

History

In 2012, it was inaugurated by the chief executive of the Asian Cricket Council. Its first match was held after two months. In 2015, floodlights were installed, and plans were made to build an indoor sports academy.

Matches of 2019 ACC Western Region T20 were also held on this ground; Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia were part of this cricket tournament.

Capacity

I’m a huge cricket fan and always love to watch matches but somehow worried about capacity. So the stadium’s capacity is 3,000 people. The seats are limited, so you have to hurry up to reserve the spot.

Pitch Report

Al Amerat stadium has a pretty ample and flat pitch offering support to both batters and bowlers. Choosing to bat in the second innings would be good.

Many international matches have been played here at this stadium. Some of the highlights are:

On 21 January 2019, Ibrahim Hassan took the first five-wicket haul in T20 international on this ground, with the Maldives playing against Bahrain.
On 23 January 2019, the first century in T20 International was completed by Ravija Sandaruwan with Kuwait playing opposite to Bahrain.
Sandeep goud from Oman has hit the highest strike rate of 170 in 2020.
This ground also hosted some matches of ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2021.
