The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the biggest cricketing tournament in the world after Cricket World Cup. The IPL 2023 season will be held from April 9 to May 30 at various stadiums across India. A total of 74 matches will be played in this IPL 2023 season, with ten teams competing for the IPL 2023 Trophy. Each team will play seven matches at home and seven away.

Before there were only 8 teams but on 25th Oct 2021, BCCI announced two new teams after the completion of the bidding process. RPSG Ventures Ltd. bought the Lucknow franchise for INR 7090 crores and Irelia Company Pte Ltd. (CVC Capital Partners) bought the Ahmedabad franchise (Gujarat Titans) for INR 5625 crores.
