Pakistan has announced their final fifteen men ICC T20 cricket world cup 2021 squad list on 9th Oct 2021, under the captaincy of Babar Azam. The squad consists of five batsmen, two wicketkeeper-batters, four all-rounders, and four fast bowlers. Mohammad Amir is not part of the world cup squad of the Pakistan cricket team although he performed well in some previous league matches.
Surprisingly, Asif Ali is included in this 15 men squad and cricket fans in Pakistan are very angry about this decision by PCB.
The selectors had ignored the experienced Shoaib Malik altogether in the preliminary squad announced earlier but after Sohaib Maqsood got injured in National T20 Cup, Shoaib found his way in. Sarfraz Ahmed was not part of the preliminary team before but now is part of the final team. Two Wicket keepers are there in the team, Muhammad Rizwan and Sarfraz Ahmed.

Sharjeel Khan could not impress the selectors despite his good performance in the PSL and National T20 Cup. Also, Fakhar Zaman made it into Pakistan’s 15 member squad list for T20 World Cup 2021.
Mohammad Hasnain was part of the first squad but is excluded now. During Pakistan Super League, Shane Watson rated Mohammad Hasnain the fastest bowler he had ever faced. He has already made an impact through his speed and ability to take wickets but he lost his position in the final squad due to relatively poor performance in NTC 2021.
Shaheen Afridi is a relatively experienced counterpart and has taken 118 wickets in 90 T20I matches.
Mohammad Hafeez is an experienced player in the Pakistani team squad for the T20 cricket world cup 2021 and will provide stability to the middle order. He has enough experience of this big event and can guide the youngsters in the squad.

Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim said: “While selecting the squad, we have tried to cover all our bases by catering for the modern-day brand of T20 cricket that will be required to perform impressively in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. This includes trusting the abilities, skills, and experience of the players to perform in a high-pressure global tournament in conditions that are familiar to us, as well as looking at the teams we will play in Group-2 matches.”
