Pakistan has announced their preliminary fifteen men ICC T20 cricket world cup 2021 squad list on 18th April 2019, under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed. Mohammad Amir is not part of the world cup squad of the Pakistan cricket team although he performed extremely well here in England during the Champions trophy 2017 claiming 3/16 in six overs. But he could perform well and remained wicketless in 9 out of 14 one-day internationals played since then. However, he is part of the Pakistan Cricket Team playing the ODI series against England.
Hard hitter Asif Ali is also playing against England but not included in 15 men squad. Both of these players have the last chance to impress the selectors and can be a part of this tournament as Pakistan may change their squad till 23 May. Pakistan vs England pre-world cup matches would be interesting to watch as Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan are in similar positions as Mohammad Amir and Asif Ali.
The selectors have ignored Mohammad Rizwan altogether even though he made two centuries for Pakistan during the recent series against Australia. Pakistan is going without a potential backup for Sarfraz Ahmed behind the stumps.

Shan Masood could not impress the selectors as he just scored 61 runs including a half-century during the recent series against Australia. Abid Ali was given preference over Shan Masood because of his recent performance against Australia where he scored a century in one of the two innings he played. Two young exciting fast bowlers, Mohammad Hasnain and Shaheen Afridi are part of the squad. During Pakistan Super League, Shane Watson rated Mohammad Hasnain the fastest bowler he had ever faced. As per selectors, Hasnain has not played many one-day internationals but he has already made an impact through his speed and ability to take wickets. Shaheen Afridi is a relatively experienced counterpart and has taken 32 wickets in 19 limited over matches.
Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez are experienced players in the Pakistani team squad for the T20 cricket world cup 2021 and will provide stability to the middle order. They have enough experience of this big event and can guide the youngsters in the squad. Hafeez has not played any cricket for three months and his inclusion in the world cup team is subject to fitness. Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Abbas, Usman Shinwari Mohammad Rizwan, and Yasir Shah are likely to miss out.
Inzamam said, three-dimensional squad, has been selected giving the captain range of options to choose from according to the conditions. Pakistan is among the favorites and will play their first Men’s T20 world cup 2021 match on 31 May against West Indies.
